Huge crocodile steals lunch from a pack of wild dogs at the river

A sudden visitor interrupted dinner at this point and stole the main course. A pack of wild dogs had just ᴋɪʟʟed and devoured their second impala after eating their first, unaware that a crocodile was watching them from the shallows of the Olifants River in Sᴏᴜᴛʜ Aғʀɪᴄᴀ.

As the dogs began to tear at the carcass, the crocodile pounced at the ideal time and rapidly caught the animal. The astonished dogs looked helplessly as it moved back into the river to savor its meal alone.

Christa Niederer, a photographer, observed the ravenous reptile playing while she was there. The impala carcass was purportedly left in the area between the canines and the scaly predator while they engaged the predator in a brief standoff. However, the crocodile snatched it up before the dogs could retrieve their catch.

Ms. Niederer recalled how the confrontation started: A huge, fat crocodile was peacefully observing the activity on the sandbank while submerged, with only its eyes protruding from the water. It moved more slowly as the dogs pushed the corpse until suddenly lunging onto the sandbank.

Let’s take a look at this surprising moment when crocodile sᴛᴇᴀʟs impala from a pack of wild dogs in the video below:
