Michael Botes, a tour guide at the Mala Mala nature reserve in Sᴏᴜᴛʜ Aғʀɪᴄᴀ, was able to capture a video of lion and leopard interacting. On a tour in the late afternoon, Botes came upon the male leopard Mlowathi and 12 youngsters from the Kambula lion herd.

According to Bote, the leopard originally alarmed him, but after they both noticed one another, no one else seemed to notice. The leopard was getting ready when the lions came to the lake.

With the exception of one female who typically kept an eye on the leopard, the majority of the lions started to doze off. The leopard eventually went down from the tree. She might have been able to successfully flee the pack of twelve lions if it weren’t for the lioness.

The leopard fled and climbed a different marula tree to escape the lion after soon recognizing his error. The lions gathered around the tree stump as the leopard snarled at them from above. The young lioness rose, and the leopard jumped in horror. Lions were all around it, but it safely touched down. Throughout the 30-minute struggle, the leopard perished.
