The two banks of the river are inhabited by many large and scary animals. From crocodiles, giant hippos, to notorious carnivores such as lions, leopards, hyenas… all need water, so there are frequent clashes between them.
Although these fearsome predators do not want to participate in meaningless, life-threatening battles, when fighting for food or defending territory, they are ready to rush into fierce battles.
As well as the lions in the clip below. The pressure of foraging to make enough milk to feed the cubs has led it to recklessly snatch prey between the crocodiles and hippos. Although they have achieved their goal, the price to pay is too high when one of the herds is bitten by a hippopotamus.
With teeth more than 40cm long, the hippo’s bite caused the lion to break its jaw. So it only had a few days to live before it died of hunger and thirst.
It is a heartbreaking day when the lion has been bitten in the head in pain, it is also a valuable lesson for all other animals.
