The leopard hunts the mother baboon, but suddenly makes friendly gestures with the baby monkey after finding the poor animal left alone.

Baboons do not have many enemies in the wild, and one of the few threats to their lives is the leopard, a predator with a fearsome speed and climbing ability.
This time, the jaguar ventured to attack the baboons and it succeeded. One baboon was badly injured lying on the road while the rest were standing nearby, constantly making threatening sounds.

Meanwhile, the wounded baboon limped weakly toward his pack. But it failed when the jaguar noticed the situation, it rushed to grab the prey by the neck and carried it to a nearby fallen tree, despite the baboons surrounding it.

An interesting thing happened when the jaguar spotted a newborn monkey left on a tree trunk. It seems to be the child of the mother monkey that was killed earlier.
Even more surprising when the jaguar showed no intention of eating the baby monkey. On the contrary, it constantly makes friendly gestures such as licking, petting, and lying next to the poor animal.

Some commentators have suggested that finding the newborn baboons awakened the jaguar’s maternal instincts, and made it seem like it wanted to protect the baby monkeys.
