The inexperienced young otter had gotten so close to the South American killer, it would have been a meal for the giant pythons within a split second.

The great otter (Pteronura brasiliensis) is a large otter (up to 1.6 m long) that lives in South America, especially in the Amazon basin. This otter often lives in groups to hunt and protect each other from fearsome predators such as jaguars, crocodiles…

When detecting crocodiles or jaguars, they often find ways to attack and drive away enemies thanks to the advantage of numbers. However, an experienced young otter had to pay a heavy price when too curious to approach a South American python.

The python attacked when the otter approached it, but fortunately the otter reacted and quickly backed away. Then, the otter swam away quickly after receiving a small lesson about this dangerous enemy.
