The antelope proved to be a “remarkable” rider when encountering the swamp lord in the river of death

Prairie antelopes have long been known for their incredible sprints, helping them to win over the pursuit of lions, cheetahs, or hyenas.

However, the surprising thing is that this animal also has an impressive ability to swim underwater. In a video recorded by tourists in Kruger National Park (South Africa), an antelope even triumphs over crocodiles after a dramatic chase.

An antelope standing on the bank, suddenly jumped into the water to keep up with its herd in a very wide river.

In the first steps, when the water was still quite shallow, the antelope used the force of its legs to jump out of the water. However, a little later, when it entered the deep water, it only knew how to swim as fast as possible to reach the other shore.

However, antelopes are not the only ones participating in the race. From behind, a crocodile suddenly appeared, and swam at full speed after its prey.

With the “host” advantage, the crocodile does not take too long to approach the prey. When it was within range, it immediately took a bite, but fortunately for the antelope, the crocodile missed.

Aware of the impending danger, the antelope used all its strength, trying to jump out of the water, and at the same time threw its legs back as a springboard.

Incidentally, this act acted as a turning point, as it hit the crocodile’s jaw right away, and stunned the animal for a moment. When the crocodile regained its speed and rushed towards its prey, the antelope quickly jumped to the shore, ending the dramatic chase on the river.

Obviously, in a survival game, if you ignore skills, willpower is the most important thing to distinguish victory and defeat, sometimes between life and death.
