Terrifying moment enormous python swallows a big marsupial whole while hanging from a tree

A large carpet python was photographed devouring a marsupial that was suspended from a tree. The magnificent mid-air feast, which lasted for more than 15 minutes, happened in Aᴜsᴛʀᴀʟɪᴀ’s stunning Byron Bay, New South Wales.

Michelle Hunjak observed the stunning sᴄᴇɴᴇ as she was returning from the lighthouse at the popular tourist destination. Luckily, she likes snakes. Michelle remarked that she found it remarkable to witness the feeding in person. She was unaware that they could consume such things.

She wasn’t afraid; instead, she was more intrigued and curious. Although she was forced to leave, she wished she could have continued to partake in the feast for the full 15 minutes. As soon as viewers saw the marsupial being enveloped while still having its legs and tail sticking out, they became interested in the carpet python’s appearance.

They don’t have venom, but they do have teeth, and they use those teeth and contractions to eat their victim. Because larger foods are more nutritive to pythons and require less frequent consumption, eating marsupials is fairly prevalent.

The snake in the image looked to be at least 1.5 meters long, which is the normal length of a carpet python.
