In a small lake at the Kanha Tiger Reserve located in central India, a rather rare story happened. An Indian buffalo (Bos gaurus) caused an adult tiger to run around the lake while drinking.

The video was filmed by a tourist and said it was quite strange when the day before, the group of tourists had witnessed the tiger killing a wild buffalo of similar size. That shows as strong as tigers but they also avoid unnecessary confrontations.

Partly because it wasn’t hungry from its previous full meal (and enough for the next week), the tiger didn’t want to waste energy on a pointless fight that it knew would take a lot of energy and may be injured.
