Despite trying to chase away the predator, the baby elephant could not escape the danger. While running away, the male lion quickly caught up with it, jumped on its back and forced it to the point of exhaustion and collapse. At that moment, another lion rushed from afar, joining forces with its fellow lion to end the poor fate of the baby elephant.

This entire horrifying scene was recorded by photographer Kurt Haas. He said that the process of chasing and taking down the baby elephant by the lion pride only lasted about 30-40 minutes.
